Mi Tenampa in Indianapolis

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant. The staff is always friendly and very helpful, and create a very welcoming environment. The menu is a little different than your typical Mexican restaurant in the Midwest, but it has great flavor! My favorite is the enchiladas verdes.

Truly one of my favorites!! The food is always great, and the staff is some of the friendliest and most personable of any place I have ever been.

Our favorite was the personable & sweet chef/owner!!! He came out and greeted everyone yo ask how they were doing!! Love this place!!!! Cant wait to come back!!

If you want GOOD FOOD....DO NOT EAT HERE. ITS CLEAN. FRIENDLY. But THAT'S IT. The food is BLAND. Taco bell tastes better than this. The chips are bad. Terrible aftertaste. The salsa tastes like crushed tomatoes, no spice or flavor at all. Queso was decent.

Food is always amazing! The staff are all so personal. The owners ALWAYS remember who we are. Whenever we are wanting Mexican food this is where we go! Food is authentic and delicious. Highly recommend!!

****Double check your bill before paying**** I noticed our check was a little high for two adults and a child. As soon as I started looking at the handwritten check, our waiter came back and immediately took the check from me and said "oh yeah it added up wrong" he was very nervous and came back and said the buttons tend to stick so it doubled some items by mistake. It was very sketchy or maybe an honest mistake but just double check your total. If it was not a mistake imagine how many people they have scammed.

Incredible Mexican food that's a bit different from the rest. They serve a potato side that's amazing. The owner's are very nice and work hard.

We went for lunch. I had the taco salad with grilled chicken and my husband had steak and chicken fajitas. The food was very tasty. The service was fast and attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

You wouldn't know it from the outside but this place has great decor. Service was excellent and the food was great too. I kept feeling like the bill was going to come and my wallet would be hurting but they have very reasonable prices for how nice everything was.

Very good food. Ask for their hottest sauce it has a really good flavor.

Excellent food & service

Very nice, clean Mexican restaurant with some side dish options besides just the normal rice and beans! Steamed veggies, seasoned mashed potatoes, spinach dip (can't think what its called). I had a tamale with verde sauce, which was perfectly prepared...not the frozen heated up kind. Staff is very pleasant, atmosphere is cool, prices are reasonable.

UpdatedI changed my rating from five stars to two. I came in today for lunch and had to wait while the server was talking down about people wearing masks during the pandemic. When she finally turned around she didn't have any mask on. Due to her behavior and the lack of protection I left and will not be returning. For anyone interested in quality authentic Mexican food in a warm atmosphere where they adhere to policies to protect their patrons and employees I highly recommend EL Jaripeo on Washington Street in the Kroger plaza. Their food is of better quality and more modestly priced.

The food is excellent, the interior is very inviting and comfortable, and the staff are so friendly, they make you feel just like family.

Ordered 4 dinner entrees because I couldn't decide what to try. Everything was phenomenal! Veracruz cuisine might be my new favorite region of Mexican dining. Thank you Mi Tenampa!!

They never disappoint, they’re fast, the service is great, and it’s the only Mexican food that sits well in my stomach. We always have great service, and a great time.This is also the only restaurant my family can agree to when choosing where to eat for dinner. You guys are amazing, Keep it up!

When I went in and ordered my meal I had a rough guess on what it would be. I couldn't see how they came up with the number they did for my bill. Portion sizes seemed a little small for the price that you pay. Had it not been for my bill being much higher I would have enjoyed the restaurant much more.

For a strip mall location I felt the interior was very inviting and comfortable. The lighting is very nice with frosted chandeliers giving a comfortable diffused light.The waitress we had was about as cuddly as a cactus, but the rest of the staff was great. My dish, carne azada enchiladas, was delicious and surprisingly spicy. The beans and rice with it were delicious.

Best Chips I ever had is what my friend said, and this was my lunch. It was perfect! Veggies and shrimp were cooked perfectly, and hot! The white queso is amazing poured over the top!

Great experience today. Asked for some of their house made hot sauce. Very spicy and soooo good!!

Had our work Christmas party here. Everything was absolutely amazing! The restaurant is beautiful. The food is fantastic, and the service was excellent. They accommodated our every request and even let us stay well past closing.

My last 3 to go orders were made incorrectly. I came home last nite and my flour tortillas were made with corn, I didn't recieve my extra order of tortillas AND MY FOOD WAS COLD and the cheese dip wasnt runny at all. why it took them 25min to fox 3 tacos is beyond my comprehension.

They're food is excellent... But.. they charged me $3.00 for 2 tiny slices of Avocado. And I come here 2 to 3 times a month. Again the food is excellent but sometimes the portions are crazy.

The atmosphere was clean, bright and friendly. Such a nice menu selection. The food stands out among the melee of Mexican restaurants because of quality and taste. Our server was so welcoming and recommended a great meal. Can’t remember the name but it had seafood with shellfish. Excellent! My husband wanted something off menu and the chef actually came out and spoke with us to make sure he got it right. He did and it was perfect. We can’t wait to go back.
